United against torture consortium

As part of my role at the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), I also contributed to communications for the United Against Torture Consortium (UATC), a European Union-funded initiative bringing together six international anti-torture organisations.

The Consortium combines the expertise and networks of OMCT, the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT), FIACAT, the International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRCT), the Omega Research Foundation and REDRESS to strengthen collective action on torture prevention, protection, rehabilitation, accountability and access to justice.

My role

Working within UATC’s shared visual identity and communications framework, I supported the development and dissemination of digital content, particularly through:

Designing visual assets and social media content for Consortium communications
Adapting complex programme and advocacy information into clear, accessible visual formats
Maintaining consistency with UATC’s shared brand identity across digital outputs
Supporting dissemination around Consortium activities, milestones and partner initiatives
Coordinating content within a multi-organisation communications environment, where messaging and visual consistency needed to work across different institutional identities

Context

In 2025, the Consortium reported 29 legal victories in 19 countries, support to 12,341 survivors, and financial backing for 100+ anti-torture civil society organisations. These figures reflect the scale of the wider initiative; my contribution focused specifically on supporting its communications and visibility through OMCT.
