hi there!
I’m Lucrecia.
I’m an award winning filmmaker, photographer, and journalist born in Caracas, Venezuela, and
based in Brussels, Belgium.
I have lived in 6 countries since I left Caracas during the pandemic. I’m fluent in Spanish, Catalan and English, and I’m learning Italian and French.
My story is crossed by the crisis in my home country and the migration of 8 million Venezuelans, including me. Therefore, I have specialised in human rights, police violence, children's rights and women's rights.
I have worked and collaborated with media outlets, such as Efecto Cocuyo, Cinco8, Distintas Latitudes, Underground Periodismo; as well as different non-governmental organisations, both locally in Venezuela and at an international level.
stories that matter
filmmaker
I have directed four short films (including documentary and fiction) exploring memory, identity and human experience.
Two of my shorts have been recognised at several international film festivals.
Photographer
I started making photos when I was a teenager, and photography has been part of my way of observing the world ever since. Over the years, I have worked as a documentary photographer on different projects, created professional portraits, and had the privilege of photographing wildlife in its natural habitat and powerful landscapes around the world.
I’m a communications professional with extensive experience in journalism, filmmaking, photography, digital communications strategies, content creation, and impactful hope-based storytelling, particularly in the human rights sector.
journalist
My journalism is rooted in long-form reporting, investigation and human rights storytelling. I have reported on violence, migration, gender-based violence, housing, censorship and the everyday impact of systemic abuses across Latin America and Europe.
My work combines testimony, data, verification and narrative care to document harm without reducing people’s dignity to it.
digital communications & Design
I develop digital campaigns, social media content and visual communications as part of broader advocacy strategies, translating complex human rights issues into clear, accessible and engaging narratives to deliver impact. My work combines strategy, editorial judgement, design and visual consistency to create content that informs, mobilises, builds empathy and supports public advocacy.
